Meet Dr. Gallagher (Our Orthodontist)
Dr. Amanda Gallagher was born and raised in Reading, Pennsylvania and attended James Madison University in Virginia where she received degrees in Health Services Administration and Business. While at James Madison, Dr. Gallagher played women’s varsity field hockey and received Division I Academic-Athlete honors. She received her Doctorate in Dental Medicine (D.M.D.) degree from Temple University School of Dentistry in Philadelphia, PA and graduated at the top of her dental school class with Summa Cum Laude recognition, was inducted into the Omicron Kappa Upsilon honorary dental society, and received the Herbert G. Lampson, M.D. Award for the most outstanding senior woman student.
Dr. Gallagher received her orthodontics specialty certificate and Masters in Oral Biology (M.S.) from the University of Maryland School of Dentistry. While at Maryland, Dr. Gallagher participated as the orthodontic specialist on Craniofacial and Cleft Palate teams at Johns Hopkins University Hospital and Kernan Medical Center. During her residency, Dr. Gallagher conducted original research focused on esthetic bracket and archwire options for orthodontic treatment.
Prior to practicing at Frederick Pediatric Dentistry, Dr. Gallagher worked as a private practice orthodontist in the suburbs of Boston, MA. In her spare time she enjoys hiking and exercising outdoors, cooking, and spending time with family and friends. Dr. Gallagher is excited to be a part of the Frederick Pediatric Dentistry team and to provide exceptional orthodontic care to adults and children in the area.
Dr. Gallagher will be fully joining our practice in April of 2012, with consultations available on selected days beginning in December 2011.
